Spring at Disney World: Why This Season Is Pure Enchantment!
Last Updated on April 8, 2025 by Allison Lancaster
Spring at Walt Disney World is a truly magical time in Orlando. The skies are blue, the flowers are blooming, and the weather is just right for park-hopping adventures. There are so many amazing things to do, and the whole resort seems to come alive with color and energy. One of the highlights of the season? Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival, which transforms the park into a floral wonderland.
To help you plan your most magical springtime visit, I’ve put together a complete guide to visiting Walt Disney World in March, April, or May. From what to pack to seasonal must-dos in each park—here’s everything you need to know!

What is the Weather Like at Disney in the Spring?
Spring is one of our family’s absolute favorite times of the year to visit Disney World! The weather is perfect for enjoying the resort pools but not so hot you can’t enjoy the park and other outdoor activities.
Weather at Disney World in Spring
Spring weather in Orlando is some of the most pleasant of the year! Expect:
- Highs in the mid-70s to low 80s
- Lows in the 50s to 60s
- Plenty of sunshine with the occasional light shower (especially in May)
Just be sure to pack that sunscreen—Florida sun can be strong even in spring!
If the forecast for your upcoming Disney World trip calls for rain, don’t panic! Most days even if the forecast is 70-90% chance of rain, it will only rain for a few minutes then the sun pops back out.
Pro Disney World Tip: If it rains, wait it out in the park and then head to rides for low wait times!

What to Pack for Spring at Disney
Spring is all about layers and comfort. Here’s a quick packing list to make sure you’re covered:
- Lightweight clothing like t-shirts, shorts, and sundresses
- A hoodie or light jacket for cooler mornings and evenings
- Comfortable walking shoes (break them in before your trip!). My favorite Disney Park shoes are Hokas I have tried a variety of shoes and these are by far the most comfortable ones that I have tried.
- Poncho or compact umbrella—just in case
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a refillable water bottle
- Swimsuits if you’re visiting Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach or your resort has a pool like most Disney World resorts do!
Tip: You can store your jacket or layers in a locker when it warms up midday!
Celebrate Spring at Disney World

Make time for the the best things to do during springtime at Walt Disney World. These suggestions are especially nice during the amazing Florida Spring weather.
Magic Kingdom
Must-Do: Catch a parade and stay for the nighttime fireworks. With the cooler temps and twinkling lights of Main Street, spring evenings in Magic Kingdom are absolutely dreamy. Don’t forget to grab a springtime treat—like a seasonal cupcake or Dole Whip!

Bonus Tip: Try to time your visit to catch the Festival of Fantasy parade. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to get a good viewing spot.
Animal Kingdom
Must-Do: Ride Kilimanjaro Safaris in the morning when the animals are most active. Spring mornings are cooler, which means you’re more likely to spot lions sunbathing or giraffes grazing.
Also, don’t miss Pandora – The World of Avatar. It’s especially breathtaking with all the spring foliage adding to the lush, immersive experience.
Bonus Tip: The bioluminescent glow of Pandora at night paired with spring’s gentle breezes? Absolutely magical.
Disney Hollywood Studios
Must-Do: Explore Toy Story Land or venture to a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The milder temps make outdoor queues way more manageable.
Be sure to grab a snack from Woody’s Lunch Box or try the blue or green milk in Batuu—it’s a fun seasonal refreshment!

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival
🗓️ When: Early March through early July (but spring is peak season!)
This is the spring event at Disney. Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival features:
- Over 100 Disney character topiaries—from classics like Mickey and Minnie to newer favorites like Encanto characters
- Seasonal Outdoor Kitchens with global flavors (the frushi in Japan is a must-try!)
- The Butterfly House, where you can walk among thousands of butterflies
- Garden Rocks Concert Series, with live music from beloved bands throughout the spring

Pro Tip: Grab a festival passport when you enter the park—it lists all the food booths, gardens, and activities. You can even collect stamps at each stop!
One of my favorite festivals during spring time is the Epcot International Flower and Garden festival. The park puts on a wonderful festival to celebrate springtime in all its glory!
The Disney character topiaries are so spectacular and change every year. There are over 100 topiaries scattered throughout the park. The flowers are in full bloom and the gardens are just gorgeous.
There are also many delicious food options to be found at the festival. You can try something from almost every country represented in the World Showcase. From savory dishes to sweet treats, there’s something for everyone.
If you’re visiting Epcot during the spring, this festival is a must-see!
Spring is the perfect time to visit Disney World because of the beautiful weather and amazing springtime festivals. Whether you’re coming for Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival, or visiting all the parks – there are so many wonderful things to do during this season!
