If you follow me on social media, you know that I had the most amazing weekend a few weekends ago when we traveled to Kiawah Island Golf Resort. This was my second trip to Kiawah and it was even better than the first! I learned so many new things about the Island and the Resort and I can’t wait to share them all with you. There truly is something at Kiawah for everyone. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway location or the perfect family vacation destination- Kiawah is perfect for you.
If You Are Seeking Relaxation:
Kiawah Island Golf Resort is the perfect location for relaxation. For this trip, my mom traveled with me and we truly both needed a relaxing weekend. As soon as you arrive on Kiawah Island, you are transported to another world. A world where the only time is ‘beach time’ and everyone greets you with a smile. No one is in a rush and your biggest worry is what restaurant you will eat at for dinner. With lush greenery, beautiful wildlife (we encountered deer several times on the island!) and five star accommodations, Kiawah is #1 on my list for a relaxing destination.
Shortly after arriving, we both headed to the spa for massages. What a perfect way to melt away all of your cares and truly relax. I have visited many spas while traveling and The Sanctuary Spa is truly world class. From the moment you enter the spa, you are greeted by friendly staff that ensure your every need is met. With amenities such as a vitality mineral whirlpool, steam room and sauna, you can spend the day relaxing and unwinding at the Sanctuary Spa.
If You Are A Beach Lover:
As if spending a day at the spa isn’t relaxing enough, we spent the next day on the beach. Living in the mountains is something that I truly love, but a huge part of me will always be a ‘beach girl’. There is nothing more healing and relaxing than sitting on the beach listening to the waves. Kiawah Island’s beaches are, in my opinion, the most beautiful beaches in the South. The beach service at the Sanctuary is amazing. As soon as you step onto the beach, you are greeted with a bottle of water, sunscreen, beach chairs, towels and an umbrella. If you are hungry, lunch is served on the beach (I highly recommend enjoying this amenity!).
If you love the idea of listening to the waves and relaxing but don’t want to spend the day on the beach, the Sanctuary offers several pools as well. In addition, if you aren’t staying at the Sanctuary, but are still a guest of Kiawah Island Golf Resort, there are several pools across the island for you and your family to enjoy.
As if the amenities offered on Kiawah aren’t relaxing enough, why not settle into an ocean view room at the Sanctuary? Equipped with a balcony that overlooks the ocean, a large soaking tub, heavenly beds and elegant fixtures, you will feel as if you’ve stepped into your own castle.
If You Are a Golfer:
I will admit, I am not a golfer. However, after visiting Kiawah Island Golf Resort, I want to learn! Boasting courses designed by the biggest names in golf and holding the title as the #1 Golf Resort in South Carolina, Kiawah Island Golf Resort does live up to its name! Everyone that we spoke to that was golfing during their time at Kiawah spoke of how beautiful and well maintained the courses are. Another cool fact? Kiawah is only the fourth course in the U.S. to have hosted every major American PGA event, including the 2012 and 2021 PGA Championship. {Source: Kiawah Island Golf Resort}
If You Are Seeking An “Active Vacation”:
Kiawah has activities for everyone, including those who go on vacation to relax by staying active. My husband is one of these people: he loves to spend time doing recreational activities while we are on vacation. It is also rated the #1 Tennis Resort in the World and #1 Best Tennis Instruction and Programming by Tennisresortsonline.com! {Source: Kiawah Island Golf Resort}.
If tennis isn’t your thing, you can take a fitness class, rent a bike, enjoy a nature program, or even participate in a marathon or triathlon! There are so many activities offered at Kiawah Island that you will never get bored!
If You Are a Foodie
When I am on vacation, I love eating at local restaurants and indulging in delicious food. Kiawah Island Golf Resort has so many amazing restaurants that the only problem we had was picking where to eat and then once we arrived, which delicious menu item to select! One of my favorite places to eat at Kiawah is the Jasmine Porch. It is a beautiful restaurant located in the Sanctuary, and the service is 5 star! Not only do you have a gorgeous view and amazing service, but the food is divine! I highly recommend the filet mignon and also the key lime pie (the best key lime pie I have ever had!).
We also ventured to the Ryder Cup Bar overlooking the Ocean Course. I cannot begin to tell you how breathtaking the views are from this location! We happened to be there right as the sun set and it was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have witnessed. I also highly recommend the crab cake sandwich at the Ryder Cup Bar, delicious!
As you can see, Kiawah Island Golf Resort truly has something for everyone, from delicious food, to a relaxing spa, to activities for everyone in the family- Kiawah is truly the perfect getaway destination! If you are planning travel for the holiday, I highly recommend visiting Kiawah as well- they even bring Santa in for the kids!

I can see that you don't have to be into golf in order to enjoy yourself here. I loved your photo showing all of the greenery, and we love relaxing by a beach. The burger and fries look like a winner to me too.
