Make a Christmas charcuterie wreath with salami roses, feta, cherry tomatoes, and rosemary. Follow the easy steps and prep ahead for your next holiday party.

This Christmas charcuterie wreath brings salami roses, feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, and fresh rosemary together on one festive platter. It’s a no-cook Christmas appetizer you can assemble ahead of time, leaving more room to enjoy your guests.

One of my favorite holiday events is our Ugly Christmas Sweater party. It’s such a good time, and we always have delicious appetizers and snack boards. This wreath fits right in with a table full of little bites to share!

What Makes This Christmas Wreath Charcuterie Board Special?

A rosemary charcuterie wreath on a green plate, featuring salami roses, cherry tomatoes, olives, and cheese cubes, arranged on a rustic wooden table with red ornaments as a festive Christmas appetizer.

Fresh rosemary creates the wreath outline, while tomatoes, spinach, and feta add red, green, and white. Two salami roses finish the arrangement without any special decorating tools.

The original recipe takes about 15 minutes to assemble. Give yourself a little extra time if this is your first time making salami roses.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make a Charcuterie Christmas Wreath

  • 1 ounce spinach: Tuck the leaves between the tomatoes and cheese.
  • 10 cherry tomatoes: Leave five whole and hollow out five for the feta filling.
  • 15 feta cheese square pieces: Use five to fill the hollowed tomatoes and arrange the remaining pieces around the wreath.
  • 5 pickled vegetable skewers: The original version uses skewers with olives, pickles, baby onions, and capsicum (bell pepper).
  • 1 ounce macadamia nuts: These fill small gaps and add crunch.
  • 16 salami slices: Use eight slices for each of the two roses.
  • Rosemary sprigs: Arrange these around the perimeter of your platter.

Choose block feta that you can cut into pieces rather than crumbles. Keep the pieces small enough to fit inside your hollowed tomatoes.

What equipment do I need to make a Charcuterie Christmas Wreath?

Large Charcuterie Circle Platter: I love this one from Amazon. It’s the perfect size for this Christmas Wreath appetizer.
Skewers or Tooth Picks: I personally like the use colorful toothpicks for an added festive look.

How to Make a Christmas Charcuterie Wreath

1. Make the rosemary outline

Arrange fresh rosemary sprigs in a circle around the perimeter of your platter. Leave the center open so the finished arrangement looks like a wreath.

2. Fill five cherry tomatoes

Hollow out five of the ten tomatoes. Fit a piece of feta inside each one, keeping the other five tomatoes whole.

3. Add tomatoes, feta, and spinach

Distribute the whole tomatoes, feta-filled tomatoes, and remaining feta pieces evenly over the rosemary circle. Tuck spinach between the tomatoes and cheese without covering them.

4. Fill the gaps

Place the macadamia nuts and pickled vegetable skewers in the spaces between the other ingredients.

5. Form two salami roses

Fold one salami slice over the rim of the small glass, with half inside and half outside. Add another slice, overlapping the first, and continue around the rim until the opening is filled.

Use eight slices per rose, as in the original recipe. Turn the glass upside down and lift it away to release the rose, then repeat with the remaining eight slices.

6. Finish the wreath

Place the two salami roses one in front of the other on the wreath. Serve promptly, or cover and refrigerate until serving time.

Original recipe yield: 12 appetizer servings.

Tips for a Festive Rosemary Charcuterie Wreath

  • Keep the ingredients visible. Tuck spinach into gaps instead of spreading it over the tomatoes and feta.
  • Use the glass as your guide. Overlap the salami around the rim rather than stacking all the slices in one spot.
  • Plan for refrigerator space. Check that your platter fits before assembling a make-ahead wreath.
  • Keep the center open. The empty space helps the circular arrangement read as a wreath rather than a full cheese platter.

Make-Ahead and Serving Advice

You can assemble this Christmas appetizer one day ahead, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve. Keep it at 40°F or colder while stored.

Once served, don’t leave the perishable ingredients at room temperature for more than two hours, or one hour above 90°F. Discard perishable food that exceeds those limits. See the FDA’s buffet safety guidance for more on keeping cold party foods safe.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz spinach
  • 10 cherry tomatoes
  • 15 feta cheese square pieces
  • 5 pickled vegetable skewers
  • 1 oz macadamia nuts
  • 16 salami slices
  • rosemary sprigs

Instructions

    1. Start building the base of your Christmas wreath charcuterie board. Therefore, you will use the rosemary to form a circle along the perimeter of your dish. I recommend using a plate of 14-inch in diameter. The bigger the diameter of your plate, the bigger the final board.
    2. Take five cherry tomatoes and empty them. Then, fix feta cheese square pieces inside the cherry tomatoes.
    3. Add the cherry tomatoes, the filled cherry tomatoes, and square pieces of the same size feta cheese homogeneously distributed over the rosemary circle. Continue with a layer of spinach between the tomatoes and cheese, so you don´t cover them.
    4. Place the macadamia nuts and the pickled vegetable skewers filling the gaps between the other ingredients. These skewers contain olives, pickles, baby onions, and capsicum, but you can choose the ones you most like.
    5. Finally, you will form the salami roses. It will probably take you the longest time but follow the instructions, and you will see it isn´t hard to do. Use a glass according to the size of your round meat slices. (I used 4-inch in diameter slices and 1.5-inch in diameter glass). Place the meat slice in the rim of the glass. Fold by half into and out of the glass. Repeat the process overlapping slices all over the rim of the glass until there is no more space in the interior. Eight slices should be enough to form the salami roses. Turn around the glass, and you will get your meat slices turned into a gorgeous form.
    6. Once you have formed two salami roses, place them one in front of the other and your easy and gorgeous Christmas wreath charcuterie board is over.
