Why You’ll Love This Lasagna Dip Recipe
- It’s an Italian food lover’s dream!
- It’s a one pot appetizer! All you need is one skillet to make this lasagna dip recipe – you won’t even need a cutting board! If big taste and easy cleanup is your thing, I got you!
- It’s different. Although we all love traditional dips like buffalo chicken and ground beef with Velveeta, it’s nice to spice it up from time to time!
- This lasagna dip recipe will make you wonder why anyone would even eat the “real” thing. The answer: they don’t know this dip version exists!
Equipment You’ll Need To Make This Copycat Olive Garden Lasagna Dip

How to Make Lasagna Dip with Ground Beef
1. In a 12 inch skillet over medium high heat, cook the meat until no longer pink, crumbling as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
2. To the skillet, add the ricotta, Parmesan, 1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend, and seasonings. Add the marinara sauce and stir until blended. Bring the dip to a boil and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with remaining shredded cheese.
4. Serve the lasagna dip with toasted slices of French bread or pasta chips.
How To Store Leftover Lasagna Dip
On the off chance that you have any leftovers of this delicious Italian-inspired dip, you’ll want to transfer it to an airtight container (after it’s cooled completely) and store it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Although you can, I don’t recommend freezing this recipe. The fats from the cheese mixed with the acidity of the marinara sauce may cause it to separate.
To reheat your leftover party dip, you can either use the stovetop or oven. You’ll want to watch it carefully and stir it frequently as it will burn quickly if left unattended. You can also use a microwave, but it’s best to reheat in small batches (about 30 seconds at a time) and stir frequently.
3 Cheese Lasagna Party Dip FAQs
Can I use mozzarella cheese instead of the Italian blend?
Yes! If you can’t find shredded Italian blend at your local grocery store, you can always use regular mozzarella instead. I like the Italian cheese blend because it’s really like adding another three kinds of cheese to this dip. Most contain mozzarella, provolone, asiago, and romano cheeses.
Can I add sausage or pepperoni to the lasagna dip?
Yes! If you want to go beyond the classic lasagna ingredients for your dip, you can add different meat(s). You could also mix in some mushrooms, green peppers, and onions too!
What kind of bread is best for dipping into this cheesy lasagna dip recipe?
We like using baguettes (french bread works too), rye bread, sourdough, or pita chips. If you want to, you can also make some pasta chips by cooking up your favorite short pasta (such as shells or rotini) and baking them until they are crispy, golden brown.
Can I make this lasagna dip in my crockpot or instant pot?
Yes, you sure can! To make this dip in your slow cooker, you’ll want to brown the ground beef first, heat the beef with the marinara, and seasonings until hot. Once hot, slowly mix in each of your cheese blends (it’s best if you let the cheese sit out and come to room temp 30 minutes before you add it).
To make this recipe in your Instant Pot, the same process as using your crockpot applies. The only difference is that you can brown your ground beef in the instant pot itself. You will want to make sure you drain the meat well and wipe out any additional grease before adding your marinara sauce.
