Delicious semi homemade brownies that will help you celebrate the holiday, any time of year! You’ll love how easy these Christmas tree brownies are!
There’s nothing like a fresh baked, homemade brownie. Except a fudgy brownie topped with loads of creamy buttercream frosting, right? Making it completely from scratch can happen, but when you just want to grab a box and mix it up, these Christmas tree brownies are perfect.
The best part of these brownies is that you control the amount of frosting on there. If you want huge “trees”, simply add more. And more frosting on brownies is almost always a good thing, right?
Ingredients you need:
- Box brownie mix
- Eggs
- Coconut or vegetable oil
- Water
- Butter
- Powdered sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Heavy cream
- Shredded coconut
Equipment you’ll need
Making your homemade brownies
- Preheat oven, and prepare muffin pans
- In a large bowl, combine brownie mix, eggs, oil and water, and stir well.
- Pour brownie batter into baking cups about ¾ of the way, then bake.
- Meanwhile, make the frosting by whipping butter, and adding in powdered sugar.
- Add vanilla and heavy cream.
- Gradually increase speed to medium/high and let it go for about 2 minutes.
- Set aside ⅓ of the frosting.
- Use the green food coloring gel to tint the remaining frosting to your liking, then add green frosting to a piping bag with a star tip.
Assemble your Christmas tree brownies
- Add a teaspoon of white frosting to the brownie bite.
- Dip into shredded coconut.
- Pipe a tree shape with the green frosting to the center.
- Start by swirling a wider base then as you pull up, get smaller.
- If you want to make larger trees, double the frosting
