Dating your significant other is so important – you need that quality time to reset and reconnect. Here are 5 cheap date night ideas for when you’re trying to save some cash, but also want to do something special together.
A date night out can be pretty expensive with the cost of a nice dinner, a bottle of wine, and some movie tickets. However just because you’re trying to meet some financial goals does not mean you need to cancel your date nights!
5 Cheap Date Night Ideas
Cook Dinner Together at Home
There is something so fun and romantic about cooking a meal together at home, and it’s easily one of the best budget date nights. Whether you make a new recipe that you picked out together, recreate a take-out favorite, or make one of your tried and true weekly dinners, you’re sure to have a great time together. Set the table, light some candles, dress up in fancy clothes, and enjoy a special meal.
Go For a Hike
Get lost in conversation (and get lost in the woods) with your significant other. Not only is this date completely free, but you’ll have fun getting some fresh air and exploring. Spend time discussing your hopes and dreams for the future, hold hands, and enjoy some snacks together along the trail.
Picnic in the Park
This is such a simple yet fun way to spend some time together! Put together a picnic basket of all of your favorites – maybe a charcuterie board with meats and cheeses, and of course, wine and dessert. Bring along a cozy blanket and a portable speaker to listen to some music, and cuddle up together as the sun goes down.
Have a Board Game Night
Plan an evening of a little friendly competition with some of your favorite board games. Break out a few of your childhood favorites like Monopoly or Battleship or have fun learning and playing a completely new game. You could even invite another couple over for a board game double date and work as a team with your significant other.
Camp Out
You could have an amazing camping trip right in your backyard, or even your living room if you’re not the outdoorsy type. Reconnect with each other by unplugging for the night, having a fire and making s’mores, or setting up a blanket fort if you’re indoors. This is the perfect way to cozy up with your partner and share some great conversations!
