What You’ll Need for this Spicy Stuffed Pizza Bread Recipe
- Pizza Crust or Homemade Pizza Dough: you’re welcome to make your own pizza dough, but if you want a quicker option, I like to use pre-made pizza dough.
- Pizza Sauce: we like to use Aldi Pizza Sauce. It has a great flavor and is super budget-friendly.
- Pepperoni Slices: you can use any pepperoni slices that you’d like, if you’re looking for a bit of a healthier option, feel free to use turkey pepperoni.
- Melted Butter: creates the beautiful golden brown color that you’re looking for! It also helps crisp up the top of your crust.
- Crusted Red Pepper Flakes: to add a bit of spice and flavor to your pizza bread. You can adjust how much you use, or omit completely if your family isn’t a fan of spice.
- Garlic Powder: adds a little bit of a pungent and savory flavor. Mixed with butter, it gives this dish an authentic garlic crust flavor.
- Basil: adds a hint of a sweet herby flavor to your pizza bread.
- Shredded Mozzarella: you can pick up any bag of shredded cheese at the grocery store, mozzarella cheese melts really easily so it is the perfect kind of cheese for this stuffed bread.
- Ranch: in my opinion, is the best sauce for dipping!
How to Make Your Spicy Stuffed Pizza Bread
To make this delicious dish, you’ll first need to roll out your pizza dough. Once you’ve done that, spread a generous layer of pizza sauce over the dough, making sure to leave a little bit of space around the edges.
Then, add some thinly sliced pepperonis and a bit of crushed red pepper over the sauce to give it a little kick.
Next, sprinkle some shredded mozzarella cheese.
Next, roll the dough up tightly, making sure that all of the filling is evenly distributed throughout the roll. Then, let your pizza roll chill in the fridge while your oven is preheating. After about 20 minutes, take your chilled pizza roll out of the refrigerator and place it on your second piece of pizza bread dough, and roll it up once more.
Brush the top of your roll with a little bit of butter, and sprinkle a few seasonings on the top of the bread to give it some extra flavor.
Then, bake your pizza bread in the oven until it’s golden brown and bubbly. Once it’s finished cooking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
And there you have it! A simple yet satisfying meal that the whole family will love. Feel free to get creative with the fillings and let your little ones join in on the pepperoni pizza bread making fun!

Why is my Spicy Stuffed Pizza Bread soggy?
To make sure your Spicy Stuffed Pizza bread remains crispy, here are two of my top tips to keep your recipe from getting soggy.
First, don’t put too much sauce on the pizza dough; less is more. If you need a bit more sauce, add a little cup on the side of marinara sauce. Another tip is if you’re using vegetables, dry them with a paper towel before adding them to the dough.
The same goes for different meats. If your meat is a bit greasy, drain all excess grease before adding it to your stuffed bread.
Can I make this ahead of time?
This is a great recipe to make ahead of time. Make your stuffed bread and then cover it tightly with plastic wrap or foil until you are ready to bake it. This will help keep the bread fresh and prevent the filling from drying out. When you’re ready to bake the bread, remove the plastic wrap or foil and place it in the oven.
Can I freeze my Spicy Stuffed Pizza Bread?
To freeze your bread, let it cool completely to room temperature. Then, wrap it tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store it in a freezer-safe bag. When you want to reheat it, take it out of the freezer and let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Finally, warm it up in the oven until it’s heated and ready to serve.
How do I store leftovers of pizza bread?
To keep your leftovers fresh, place them in an airtight container and store them in the fridge for up to four days. To reheat, put the slices on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven at 350 degrees F until heated.
