Where to Meet Pocahontas at Disney World

When you’re planning a magical trip to the most magical place on earth, you might be wondering where you can find some of your favorite Disney characters for a photo, autograph or just to sneak a peek up close. Where to Find Disney Princesses & Other Characters

If you’re excited to meet your favorite princess, Pocahontas, we can point you in the right direction to find her and all of your favorite Princesses in Disney parks. In fact, there are many opportunities is each of the four theme park locations at the Walt Disney World Resort to find so many of your princess friends!

Magic Kingdom Park

In Magic Kingdom, you can find Cinderella greeting guests together at a Disney princess meet and greet at the Princess Fairytale Hall. You’ll also find Ariel in her Grotto, located near Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid. Belle has a permanent home at Enchanted Tales with Belle. Princess Tiana can often be found in Liberty Square, while Buzz Lightyear is located in Tomorrowland, outside of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

Just down Main Street U.S.A., in Town Square Theater, you can even meet Mickey Mouse at Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire! Although Tinker bell used to greet guests in this location, she is now content flying over the crowds in Magic Kingdom’s nighttime show each evening.

Princess Jasmine and Aladdin can be found in Adventureland near The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, while Chip & Dale are often found in nearby in Frontierland.

The Festival of Fantasy parade is a great opportunity to spot some of your favorite friends and is a nice change from standing in line at a traditional meet and greet.

Epcot

Over in Epcot, you can find Snow White in the Germany Pavilion and Mulan in the China Pavilion in World Showcase. You can also visit Jasmine at the Morocco Pavilion or take a journey on Frozen Ever After to meet Princess Anna and Queen Elsa.

There’s no shortage of princesses and other characters to meet in Epcot!

Hollywood Studios

If you’re hoping to meet princesses in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’re in luck! There are quite a few opportunities to do so. You can find some of your favorite friends like Doc McStuffins in Animation Courtyard and even see Star Wars characters in Galaxy’s Edge.

You can also visit Princess Elena and Sofia the First near the Voyage of The Little Mermaid attraction. Mickey & Minnie Mouse are dressed up and ready for their close up at Red Carpet Dreams. There are plenty of Disney World characters to meet at Hollywood Studios!

Animal Kingdom

Finally, over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can find Pocahontas near the entrance to the park near The Tree of Life. You can also find Rafiki near Adventurers Outpost. Of course, you can see all of your favorite Lion King characters like Timon and Pumba at

Character Meals

If you’re determined to find a specific princess or favorite characters, a character meal might be the best and easiest way to make sure you see the Disney characters you want to get a photo with. A few character dining opportunities you might enjoy include:

  • Donald Duck & Daisy Duck at Tusker House
  • Chef Mickey’s
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table
  • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
  • 1900 Park Fare
  • ‘Ohana (breakfast only)

As you can see, there are quite a few options when it comes to where to meet characters at Disney World. While some of these experiences have been put on hold in recent months, character experiences and buffets are starting to come back in select locations.

A good resource to find out the most up-to-date information on where to find characters at Disney World is the My Disney Experience app. You can also check the park maps or ask a cast member for assistance.

And if you’re planning a sit down meal with your favorite characters, be sure to make a reservation in advance as these experiences fill up quickly!

Who is Pocahontas?

Pocahontas is one of Disney’s most popular princesses, and she has been since the movie came out in 1995. Pocahontas is based on a real Native American princess named Pocahontas, who was born in 1595.

In the movie, Pocahontas is depicted as a young woman living in Virginia during the time when English settlers were arriving to colonize America. The film follows Pocahontas’s relationships with John Smith and Englishman, and Ratcliffe, the governor of the Virginia colony. Pocahontas is a beautiful and brave young woman who ultimately chooses love over war.

Pocahontas is one of the few Disney princesses who is based on a real person. Her story has been told many times, but the Disney version is by far the most popular. Pocahontas is a strong and independent woman, which is why she is such a role model for young girls.

With the help of Grandmother Willow, Pocahontas sets out to stop a war between the English and her tribe. Along the way, she meets John Smith, an English settler, and the two fall in love. Pocahontas is willing to risk everything for peace and love, which is what makes her such a beloved Disney character.

Other fun characters in the Disney movie include Meeko, Pocahontas’s pet raccoon, and Flit, her little hummingbird friend. The nature scenes in the movie are absolutely beautiful, and the music is some of the best in any Disney movie. Pocahontas is a timeless classic that is sure to be loved by generations to come.

Which park can I find Pocahontas in?

Pocahontas is considered a rare character because of her appearance schedule, meaning that you may not be able to find her every day. The best way to find out if she’s greeting guests is to take a look at the daily character meet and greet schedule that’s listed in your My Disney Experience app or pick up a Times Guide when you enter the park.

Currently, the only way to visit Pocahontas is at a meet and greet is held at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You can find Pocahontas at the end of Discovery Island Trails in the Animal Kingdom Disney park. 

It makes sense that the nature-loving princess spends most of her time in the beautiful nature of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. To find the meet and greet for Pocahantas, you’ll want to turn right when you reach the Tree of Life. The entrance to the area is located on the backside of Disney’s Tree of Life, past Dinoland USA and right before the bridge to Africa. 

My Disney Experience App has maps of the parks that can guide you to Pocahontas’s meet-and-greet location. If you don’t have the app, any park map should do the trick. Just look for the Discovery Island Trails on the map and make your way there.

Other occasional appearances include on the Animal Kingdom’s flotillas that sail around Discovery River as part of the Discovery River character cruise. Pocahontas can also be spotted sometimes during the character cavalcades that you will find throughout the Disney Animal Kingdom Park.

You just might spot her with Meeko the raccoon too, but of course, you can’t pose for pictures or snag an autograph during the cruises or character cavalcades. It is always fun to see if you can spot her though!

You can also ask a cast member what her hours will be and where you might spot her on the day of your visit and they’ll be happy to help you get the information you need.

Where to Meet Pocahontas at Disney World

Tips for Meeting Pocahontas

Your best bet for meeting Pocahontas is to wait by her normal greeting spot in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. She typically greets guests several times throughout the day, so if you’re patient, you’re sure to get a chance to meet her.

Pocahontas is a popular character, so there may be a line to see her. The good news is that the wait times to see Pocahontas are usually not too bad. You can use the My Disney Experience app to check wait times and see if the line for Pocahontas is too long for you.

If you’re traveling with small children, it might be a good idea to plan to meet her at the beginning of your visit early during the day, or shortly before the park closes when lines are a bit shorter. . This will help you avoid long lines and give you more time to explore the rest of the park.

What will Pocahontas be wearing?

Although Pocahontas loves the colors of the wind, you can find her in her classic outfit from the movie, which includes her brown dress with fringe, her blue pouch and, of course, her long black braid.

Is there a fee to meet Pocahontas?

There is no additional charge to meet Pocahontas on the day of your Disney park visit. Traditional character meets are included in the price of admission.

Absolutely! You can pose for photos with Pocahontas, and even get her autograph. Make sure that you bring your Disney autograph book, your pen, and your cell phone for pictures!

What hours are the meet and greet?

Character meet and greet hours are subject to change, so it is best to check the MyDisney Experience app or ask a cast member on the day of your Disney Animal Kingdom visit.

However, previously Pocahontas’ meet and greet schedule has looked something like this:

  • 10:15 a.m.
  • 11:15 a.m.
  • 12:15 p.m.
  • 2:05 p.m.
  • 3:05 p.m.
  • 4:05 p.m
