Peanut Butter Protein Bites

Since we are all focused on getting healthier this year, I want to share one of my favorite healthy snack recipes with you today!  The other afternoon, I was on a ‘cooking spree’ and I really wanted to bake some peanut butter cookies. I am a HUGE peanut butter fan. Unfortunately, peanut butter cookies aren’t considered a healthy snack…but they are one of my favorite foods! These peanut butter protein bites are a great alternative to peanut butter cookies, and they are healthy! 

Peanut Butter Protein Bites

Servings 15

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Ground Flax Seed
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp. almond extract
  • 1 Cup Steel Cut Oats

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together
  2. Refrigerate for approximately 1 hour
  3. Take approx.1 Tbsp. and roll into a ball
  4. Continue until you have used all of the mixture
  5. Enjoy! 1-2 of these are the perfect morning snack!

What is the estimated calorie count on these? I am trying to find a recipe that isn't so high in calories. This one should be lower since there are no added chocolate chips and other sugars that I've seen in some.

I know its not related to your recipe but those hydrangeas look so pretty! They're pretty much my favorite flower! I can't wait for mine to bloom out this spring :)
