Now that I have a little one, I can see why some parents end up so stressed out during the holiday season. There are a million and one toys to buy, multiple family parties to attend and just when you think it couldn’t get any crazier-someone almost always ends up sick, there’s bad weather, or some other small disaster happens to throw a wrench in your plans. This year, I am making it a point to Take Time and Show Gratitude this Holiday Season. Practicing gratitude and a simple ‘thanks’ can go a long way, for one it slows you down and makes you be more appreciative of what you have. It also helps your children and those around you to see that the season isn’t all about the ‘hustle and bustle’ of getting to the next place or opening the next gift.
A few ideas to take time to show gratitude this holiday season are:
Simply say ‘thanks’. Whether it’s the cashier at the grocery store, the person delivering your packages or your mom, a simple ‘thanks’ can go a long way. Tell the person why you are thanking them, for example: “thank you for being so courteous to me during this busy holiday season” or “thank you for handling my bread with care when you unloaded my cart”
Surprise them. Does your hubby work out in the cold weather like mine does? What if you took him hot soup on his lunch break? Does your mom work hard to shop for everyone on her list? What if you offered to wrap a few of those gifts? What about the elderly neighbor who doesn’t have a way to get around town? Maybe you could pick up some gifts for that person to hand out. The element of surprise can go a long way to show just how much you appreciate that person and all that they do for you.
Share the love – Bulletproof Coffee is my new favorite coffee brand. It’s delicious and gives me just the amount of extra energy I need to make it through this busy holiday season. Another way to share your gratitude this holiday season is to plan a fun coffee date with a few of your friends. Show them how much they mean to you this season and you can also share with them all about Bulletproof coffee and how it will help them power through this holiday season. Here’s how to make it yourself:
- 1 Cup Filtered Water
- 2 1/2 heaping Tbsp of Freshly Ground Bulletproof Coffee Beans
- 1-2 Tbsp of Brain Octane
- 1-2 Tbsp of grass-fed unsalted butter or grass-fed ghee
Brew 1 cup (8-12 oz.) of coffee using filtered water, just off the boil, with 2 1/2 heaping tablespoons freshly ground Bulletproof Coffee Beans. (French Press is easiest.)
Add in 1-2 tablespoons of Brain Octane™ to the hot coffee (It’s STRONG – start with 1 tsp. and work up over several days).
Add 1-2 tablespoons grass-fed, unsalted butter or grass-fed ghee
Mix it all in a blender for 20-30 seconds until it is frothy like a foamy latte
So why Bulletproof coffee?
Well for starters, did you know that there is good and bad coffee? I didn’t know that until recently! Good coffee can promote brain function, memory, and energy levels. It can serve as a massive source of antioxidants and is associated with all sorts of positive health outcomes. Coffee can even affect your body and mind like Chi Gong exercises. It can even help you build muscle without exercising. However, the wrong coffee can sap your health and hurt your performance. Bad Coffee beans are almost always contaminated with mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are damaging compounds created by molds which grow on coffee beans (among other things). How scary and gross is that? I know that I don’t want to drink bad coffee! With Bulletproof, I don’t have to worry about that. BulletProof Coffee is low toxin, high performance & full of healthy fats to fuel you. Like it says in the recipe, Bulletproof Coffee is Upgraded coffee blended with grass-fed unsalted butter & Brain Octane Oil.
What exactly is This Brain Octane Oil? Brain Octane and other MCTs bypass liver processing entirely, making them rapidly available. The same is not true for long-chain fatty acids. It’s also not true for lauric acid (C-12), the main MCT in coconut oil. That’s why you won’t get the same rapid energy boost from imitations of Bulletproof Coffee that use coconut oil instead of Brain Octane. Don’t get me wrong: coconut oil is very good for you, and it’s a superb addition to the Bulletproof Diet. It’s just not ideal for mixing into your coffee.
Starter kits are a cool way to test out Bulletproof Coffee & see if it is for you, they are also a great gift idea this holiday season – get yours here
