- Powdered sugar – To help bring the Grinch Cake Mix Cookies to life, you’ll need powdered sugar.
- Milk – An important ingredient to these cookies is milk!
- Vanilla – A sweet and welcomed part of this recipe is vanilla.
- Green and yellow food coloring – To make the perfect Grinch color, you’ll need this food coloring.
- Red heart sprinkles – To complete the Grinch look, grab red heart sprinkles for these cookies!
How to Make Grinch Cake Mix Cookies
- Preheat the oven.
- Start mixing the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil together.
- Mix the food coloring together to get the right green color.
- Place the cookie dough on the baking sheet in scoops.
- Bake and then allow to cool.
- Make the frosting.
- Add 2 drops each of green and yellow food coloring. Stir well.
- Check the consistency of the frosting and spread the icing on the cookies.
- Place a heart in the center of the cookies.
How to Store & Freeze
These cookies may be stored best when placed in an airtight container and placed in the fridge. Due to the powdered sugar consistency frosting, any heat put on it could melt the frosting. Place in fridge for storage, but take out before enjoying. If you’d like to freeze, just make sure they are in a freezer-friendly container and then place them in the freezer for 3-6 months.

Grinch Cake Mix Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 box of white cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Green food coloring
- Yellow food coloring
- Red heart sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil to a large bowl and stir well.
- Add equal amounts of green and yellow food coloring to get your desired “Grinch” color. I used 4 drops of each.
- Using a cookie scoop, drop scoops of dough onto a baking sheet, 1-2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9 minutes. Remove from the oven, and set the baking sheet on a wire cooling rack for one minute.
- Remove cookies from the baking sheet, onto the wire cooling rack. Allow cookies to cool completely.
- Mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl.
- Add 2 drops each of green and yellow food coloring. Stir well.
- Check the consistency. It should be just perfect - not too runny, and not too thick.
- Spread icing on the cookies.
- Place a heart in the center of the cookies.
