Apple Pie Biscuit Bake served on a plate

I think the title of this post says it all: apple pie biscuit bake. As a Southerner, there is nothing better than apple pie spice. This apple pie biscuits recipe combines carbs and the delicious fall flavor that reminds me of a warm apple pie. Dessert biscuits? I’m in heaven every time this delicious dish comes out the oven.

Not only is this a delicious dessert recipe, but it’s even great for a special breakfast on a busy morning. It’s a family favorite all year long! One thing that makes the fall special is the abundance of apples. I have always loved anything apple, and having a sweet tooth…this apple pie with biscuit dough is like Heaven on a plate for me.

You can use either store-bought apple pie filling or fresh bite size pieces of apple to make a homemade apple pie filling. It’s totally up to you and your preference!

Watch how to make this easy apple pie recipe:

It’s easy enough to make that you can pull it together for a quick weeknight dessert but it’s also polished enough that your guests will think you spent hours putting it together (we’ll keep the fact that it’s so easy to make between us).

A few quick pointers when making my apple pie with biscuit dough:

  • You don’t have to make your own glazed topping, any simple glaze works. You could grab a jar of your favorite cream cheese icing instead from the store (although the glazed topping is easy to make!)
  • I personally prefer Pillsbury Butter Tastin’ Biscuits for this their flavor adds something to this recipe that other canned biscuits don’t! Pillsbury Grands work well too.
  • After you make this, be sure to refrigerate your skillet apple pie biscuits if you aren’t serving immediately.
