Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and you’re going to need a fun activity for you and your kids to do! If you haven’t thought of a kid-friendly activity that everyone will love, then this Valentine’s Day Slime is for you! Slime is great when you make it yourself. It will keep your kids busy for hours.
What’s in Valentine’s Day Slime?
- Bottles of Elmer’s Glue in pink glitter – Grab as many bottles of Elmer’s Glue as you’d like because you can make several batches of this slime.
- Warm water – Yes, you’ll need warm water to make this slime.
- Baking soda – You’ll need baking soda to make this recipe!
- Contact lens solution – Having contact lens solution will make it much easier to make slime!
Valentine’s Day Slime Recipe
This valentine slime recipe is the best recipe you can make for slime. It’s simple to make and so much fun to play with! This slime is also amazing because it will give your kids a fun activity for the holiday ahead!
- Empty the glue into a large bowl.
- Fill the empty glue bottle about ⅓ full with warm water (about ¼ cup) and seal with the lid.
- Go ahead and shake well to combine the remaining glue with the water.
- Pour into the bowl with glue and stir to combine.
- Add the baking soda to the glue and stir to mix thoroughly.
- This is the time to add additional glitter, food coloring, scents, or confetti.
- You’ll want to this all into stir the glue mixture before adding the contact lens solution.
- This step is where you’ll add contact lens solution to the glue mixture and stir well.
- Take the slime from the bowl and play with it.
Fun Valentine’s Day Activity
Once you make the slime, what can you do with it? There are so many different things you can do with slime! Here are some activity ideas:
- Place in a baggie and the kids can practice their letters.
- Move the slime around from hand to hand.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out pieces of the slime.
- The kids can put both hands in the slime – this helps with sensory issues.
- Add little gadgets into the slime and let the kids wrap the slime around it.

When it’s time to store the slime, you may be wondering how that works. The slime needs to be placed inside an airtight container. You can put it inside the fridge to keep it from melting. Just make sure it’s labeled so no one accidentally eats it!

Ingredients
- 1 (6 ounce) bottles Elmer's Glue in pink glitter
- About ½ cup warm water
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon contact lens solution (containing boric acid), for each batch
Instructions
- Empty the glue into a large bowl.
- Fill the empty glue bottle about ⅓ full with warm water (about ¼ cup) and seal with the lid. Shake well to combine the remaining glue with the water. Pour into the bowl with glue and stir to combine.
- Add the baking soda to the glue and stir to mix thoroughly.
- If you are adding additional glitter, food coloring, scents, or confetti, stir into the glue mixture before adding the contact lens solution.
- Add contact lens solution to the glue mixture and stir well. (Note: regular glue will require less contact lens solution than glitter glue. Add the contact lens solution slowly, mixing between additions, and add only enough to bring the glue together into a soft ball.)
- Remove the slime from the bowl. The slime will be sticky. Begin to play with the slime, stretching or kneading it as you would bread dough, to bring the slime together. The slime is ready when it is no longer sticky.
- Best if stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator when not in use.
