Some tips for making these red, white and blue waffles:

  • Make sure your waffle iron is nice and hot. Many will have a green light indicating readiness. A hot waffle iron is less likely to stick.
  • For meal prep, combine the dry ingredients in a ziplock bag, and the wet ingredients in another bag. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days. When you are ready to make your festive waffles, simply follow the directions to combine them and proceed.
  • Make a couple extra waffles, and roll with a rolling pin to make waffle ice cream cones for a tasty treat, too!

Fourth of July is a celebration, and if you’re like us who love to incorporate how wonderful this special day is with our food, grab your blueberries and strawberries with your sugar baking powder and get to cooking!
