Ingredients for Lemon Sugar Cookie Recipe
These cookies are special to me because they have so much flavor! That fresh lemon flavor will have you hooked from the first bite.

- sugar
- vanilla
- lemon juice
- lemon extract

- baking soda

Make sure you have enough ingredients to make a few batches of these cookies! You’ll be glad you made more than one batch.
How to Make Lemon Sugar Cookies
- Cream butter and sugar together. You want the butter and sugar to be fluffy.
- Add the other ingredients according to the recipe.
- Add in the flour, ½ cup at a time. I like to mix by hand in this step as the dough gets thick.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
- With a cookie dough scoop, form little mounds of dough.
- Drop them into the sugar you set aside for dusting.
- Bake according to the recipe and be careful not to overbake.
- The cookies should look lightly golden in color when they are ready.
- Allow cooling on the cookie sheet for about 5 minutes before removing.

Ingredients
- 2 sticks of softened butter
- 2 ½ cups of flour
- 1 ½ cup of sugar + ¼ cup for rolling
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 teaspoons lemon juice
- 3 teaspoons of lemon extract
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar together for 3 minutes. You want the butter and sugar to be as fluffy as possible.
- Add the egg and mix for 1 minute.
- Add vanilla extract, lemon extract and lemon juice.
- Mix and begin adding the baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add in the flour, ½ cup at a time. I like to mix by hand in this step as the dough gets thick.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
- With a cookie dough scoop, form little mounds of dough.
- Drop them into the sugar you sat aside for dusting, roll them in the dough so they are completely covered with sugar.
- Place them on a lightly sprayed cookie sheet, about 3” apart. The dough will spread, so leave ample room!
- Bake for 10-13 minutes, being careful not to overbake. The cookies should look lightly golden in color when they are ready.
- Allow to cool on the cookie sheet for about 5 minutes before removing.
