If you follow along on my Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, you know how much fun mom and I had this past weekend at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville. It was my first time in Nashville and a trip that I will never forget. I have wanted to visit Nashville for many years, so when we were looking at places for our next getaway, I knew exactly where I wanted to go. I have heard many amazing things about the Gaylord Opryland Resort, and when we decided to stay there, I was beyond excited.

Getting There

We live about 4.5 hours away from Nashville. I was a little concerned about how difficult it would be to get around Nashville and find the resort. We had no issues at all! The Resort is easy to find, easy to access and we had absolutely no issues getting there. As soon as we arrived and pulled onto the property, I was amazed at the atmosphere. There are gorgeous plants everywhere, manicured down to each leaf and petal; friendly staff around every corner and the valet staff waiting on you as soon as you arrive at the check in area.

First Impressions

My first impression of the Resort was complete overwhelm. In a good way. I felt like if I blinked I would miss something. From the art work, exquisite fixtures, and breathtaking gardens- there is so much to take in. You truly feel like you have stepped into another world when you arrive at the Resort. There are gorgeous water features throughout the entire hotel and even an opportunity to take a Delta Riverboat Tour through some of those water features while you are there.

The check in process was seamless and easy. They give you a map of the resort which is very helpful and also let you know that your room key matches the carpet on your floor- so you know if you are in the right place when you are headed to your room. Genius! Again, I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff – they are some of the most friendly and well-informed staff I have encountered during my travels.

The Room

Sometimes when you arrive at a gorgeous resort, you are quickly disappointed by the rooms. This was not the case at all at the Opryland Resort. Our room was just as breathtaking as the rest of the resort. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in (I really wanted to bring it home!), the bathroom boasted a double vanity (perfect for a girl’s weekend away) and the balcony view of the atrium was the icing on the cake. For extra convenience our room had a min-fridge, TV with Netflix (win!) and coffee maker.

Amenities

I don’t even feel like ‘amenities’ is a fair word for all that the Gaylord Opryland Resort has to offer. I feel like “once in a lifetime experience” is better terminology. We had planned to explore Downtown Nashville while we were in town, but we ended up not because there was so much to do at the resort.

While we were visiting, their annual Summerfest was going on and the theme was Alice in Wonderland- so much fun! The gardens were transformed into “Wonderland” in a gorgeous but not ‘over the top annoying’ way. Each day there were activities for the entire family including: live entertainment, pool parties, Jr. Chef Camp and much more!

With 17 restaurants on site, there are so many options for dining that the only issue you will have is deciding which restaurant to indulge in. While we were there we ate dinner at Ravello and breakfast at Cascades American Cafe. I am drooling just thinking about the food. Seriously, it was that good. The pasta at Ravello was made in-house and I could truly tell the difference- I am now ruined and only want homemade pasta! Breakfast- the buffet was to die for! If you visit, you have to eat breakfast at Cascades American Cafe. Their yogurt parfaits are the best I have ever had.

As if delicious food, live entertainment, a fitness center, pools and on site shopping aren’t enough- Relâche Spa is the on site spa and it’s the best spa I have ever been to. I don’t say that lightly either. If you have read my blog for any amount of time, you know I have visited many spas- but the spa at Opryland Resort is at the top of my list. The aromatherapy massage transports you to another world- a relaxed, peaceful and calm world.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is, I cannot wait to go back to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. It is in the perfect location, has some of the most wonderful staff I have encountered in all of my travels and raises the bar for any future travel, dining and spa experiences. Whether you are looking for a girl’s getaway, a couple’s weekend away or a family vacation destination- the Gaylord Opryland Resort is the perfect place for you!

We were just in Nashville last month, and went by there on our way to the Grand Ole Opry. It looks like a beautiful place.
