We recently stayed at The Inn on Biltmore Estate to celebrate our anniversary and it was exactly what we hoped for…peaceful, relaxing, and full of timeless elegance. If you’re planning a visit to America’s largest home or looking for a luxury mountain getaway, here’s my full review of our recent stay at this Forbes’ four-star inn nestled on the landmark 8,000 acre Biltmore Estate in Asheville North Carolina. From the large fireplace in the main lounge to the elegant guest rooms with mountain views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this luxury hotel offers the perfect blend of old world ambience and modern convenience.

First Impressions of the Inn on Biltmore

As soon as we passed through the main gate of the estate and made our way up the drive, we knew we were in for a treat. The Inn sits on a quiet hilltop overlooking the grounds of the Biltmore Estate. It immediately felt like a veritable chateau, one with all the charm of a traditional 19th century manor house but with the comforts of a modern luxury stay.

FRONT OF BILTMORE ESTATE

Check in time was seamless and the front desk staff were so welcoming. The staff offered great service the entire time, from helping us with our luggage to recommending dining venues around the estate.

Our Room: Cozy and Luxurious

We stayed in a King Room at the Inn on Biltmore Estate and it had everything you’d want for a special getaway. The king sized bed was wrapped in luxurious bedding, the elegant window treatments framed our views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the whole space was beautifully decorated.

There was a flat screen TV, coffee maker, and free complimentary wireless internet access. We also noticed smoke detectors, a carbon monoxide detector, and a security system, which made us feel extra safe. The room was a great mix of traditional charm and cozy comfort, complete with a rich dark mahogany four poster bed.

The bathroom had soft robes, and high end finishes that made it easy to unwind after a full day exploring the estate. We also appreciated the little touches like turndown services and water bottles in our room each day.

Dining at The Inn on Biltmore Estate

We had dinner at The Dining Room the first night we visited. The atmosphere was very formal and perfect for a romantic or special dinner. The service was outstanding and the menu was full of seasonal options made with estate grown ingredients.

The wine list featured bottles from the award winning Biltmore Winery and everything we tried was delicious. If you’re celebrating something special or just want a great meal, this is the place.

The next night we ate at the Library Lounge, which is one of the most relaxing spots in the hotel. It’s quiet and cozy, with big chairs, soft lighting, and a great drink menu. We honestly preferred dining here on the outdoor patio to The Dining Room.

Would We Stay at the Inn on Biltmore With Kids

We saw a few families with children during our stay, but to be honest, it’s not a place we’d bring our own kids. It felt more like a quiet adult focused getaway. The overall vibe was very calm and elegant, which is what we wanted for an anniversary trip.
