Planning a family vacation to Disney World? Are you wondering if June is a good time of year? What do you even wear to Disney World in June? Well, this is the place for you! I am going to give you all the details you need for your trip to Disney World Vacation in June! The most important thing is to start doing some research a couple of months in advance so that you are well-prepared for Florida weather during the summer months.

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World in June, it’s important to consider what you’ll wear to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. June can be a hot and humid month in Orlando, Florida, with temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to the mid-90s Fahrenheit. This means that you’ll need to dress appropriately to stay cool and comfortable while navigating the theme parks.

Additionally, you’ll want to choose clothes that are suitable for the various attractions and activities you’ll be taking part in. In this guide, we’ll provide some tips and recommendations on what to wear to Disney World in June, so you can make the most of your trip while staying comfortable and stylish.

Regardless of the weather, you and your family will have a great time on your trip and it will be even better when heading to the Disney parks well prepared! It’s important to note that there will inevitably be some long lines during your trip, so it is important that everyone wear comfortable shoes. Flip flops are great, but we all know that many brands will get VERY uncomfortable after just a couple hours of wear.

It is a good idea to wear tank tops since the weather is generally hot and humid, but be sure to bring a layer that can protect you from the sun. I recommend bringing either a light layer that is easy to take on and off or an umbrella that can protect you from the sun’s rays as well!

What is the weather like at Disney World in June?

I’m sure that you have heard all the stories about Florida’s weather during the summer. Do I hear someone shouting rain? Yes, that is correct! There are frequent thunder and lightning rain storms in central Florida during the summer weather.

This is where that umbrella I talked about previously can have a dual purpose! While it is a great option to protect you from the sun’s rays, it can additionally protect you from the rain that may come down during your Disney trip. The best option for dealing with rainy days is to just take it in! They typically come and go multiple times throughout the week so it’s not really something that can be avoided.

It’s helpful to note that June is the start of hurricane season in Florida. Now, I don’t say that to scare you out of your trip but it is a factor to keep in mind while you’re in the Orlando area.

The daytime temperatures can get very warm (average temperatures are around 90 degrees) and VERY humid. It’s important to stay hydrated, keep applying sunscreen and take breaks often. A pool day or afternoon is perfect for beating the heat and one of our favorite ways to relax after a morning at the parks!

Be sure to pack a light jacket to take with you (sounds weird, right? Packing a rain jacket to go to Florida in June!). I like to roll mine up and be able to stick it in my park bag, it fits nicely and is compact and is the best way to save space in your suitcase! Disposable ponchos are another option but if they are calling for more than 15-20 minutes of rain, they will get hot and sticky and essentially are like walking around in a sauna. The hot weather that you will experience during your June trip is something you will never forget. The warm days are full of beautiful memories made with your family at the happiest place on earth.

What should kids wear to Disney World in June?

While your kids are most excited to meet their favorite character, you are likely more worried about exactly what they should wear, how many pairs of tennis shoes you need to bring for them, or what kind of bathing suit they may need for the water rides. Well, the good news is that I have you covered!

Since you are traveling to Florida you are likely staying in a hotel room, which is great news. If you are staying at a Disney resort that is all the more fun!

My personal preference when we get to our hotel rooms is to unpack our belongings and put them away into the dresser drawers and hang items up in the closet. I find that this is a great way to get peace of mind knowing that everything is where it should be and I can easily find what I am looking for.

Another good option to is if your children are old enough, they can help with this process to instill this idea with them so that they too can do it with their children when they travel!

Let’s talk shoes, I have found that the best shoes for children to wear are comfortable walking shoes like Nike’s, Cat & Jack, or Sketchers. In my personal experience, you will wish you had them if you take your child in flip-flops or sandals.

No one wants to hear their child complaining that their feet already hurt on the walk into the park! The pavement in the parks is also very hot so keep that in mind when picking shoes for your children (thicker sole shoes with socks are going to be your best bet).

It is also a good idea to bring a breathable UPF long-sleeved shirt to put on the kids since you will be in the sunshine for prolonged periods of time you need to protect their delicate skin from burning.

I know long sleeves have saved my kids more than once from getting sunburnt and possibly ruining the remainder of our trip. Swim shirts are also a must if your kids are prone to sunburn.

What should adults wear to Disney World in June?

Since we are on the topic of what to wear for your Disney World trip in June, we should discuss the Disney dress code. This has been a hot topic of conversation on the internet lately.

However, it goes to note that you should be conscious of what you are wearing since this is in fact a place geared more towards children.

It is a good idea to review the Disney dress code policy if you do have any questions prior to leaving on your trip. You don’t want to be the family member that gets the group kicked out.

Since you will be doing a lot of walking you will want to bring tennis shoes for you to wear as well. Yes, there are plenty of hot days when you just want to wear sandals but your feet will thank you for not wearing the wrong shoes! I personally love these Adidas tennis shoes.

I have worn them 10+ times to Disney World and my feet never get sore! I also love that they slip on easily.

Next, on the Disney World packing list is a pair of long pants, you never know and it is a good idea to have one pair on hand for those just-in-case emergencies.

Don’t forget to pack a nice pair of shorts and a blouse or a nice dress if you are going to eat out anywhere a little bit fancy.

What to pack for Disney World in June?

While you may not need all of these things, they are great to have on hand during the hot summer month of June in Orlando. If you are flying, it might be best to order some of these things through a grocery delivery such as Instacart when you arrive.

We typically place 1-2 grocery orders from Instacart (Publix) when we visit Disney World. Shipt is another great option, you can get items from Target delivered the same day via this service.

June is the time of the year to be well prepared for the weather conditions. The average high temperature is 91 degrees so you want your Disney packing list to be full of useful items that will actually get used!
