  • 1 (16 ounce) package Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies – Can you believe that this delicious recipe only requires one package of cookies?
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened – You are going to be so glad that you have cream cheese on hand, it’s what makes these truffles so creamy in the middle!
  • 16 ounces melting chocolate, candy melts, or almond bark – This is a versatile recipe, you get to choose what type of dipping chocolate you use.
  • Sprinkles – The sprinkles are optional, but you can do so much with the sprinkles! You can even change up the actual recipe depending on what kind of outcome you want.

How to Make Snowball Oreo Truffles

  1. Prepare a baking sheet with waxed paper.
  2. Put the cookies into a food processor and make sure they become super small.
  3. Add the cream cheese to the food processor.
  4. The mixture should turn into a big ball.
  5. Make the mixture into smaller balls and place on cookie sheet.
  6. Place in the freezer before you decorate.
  7. Follow the directions to decorate the Oreo truffles.
  8. Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for about 1 hour or until firm.

Snowball Oreo Truffles

Yield: 50 balls

The holidays are quickly approaching and that means it's time to make delicious desserts. Snowball Oreo Truffles are so festive and perfect for the upcoming season change. Each bite includes melted chocolate, Oreos, and cream cheese. These are great for taking with you to holiday parties or enjoying right at home with the kids!

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 16 ounces melting chocolate, candy melts, or almond bark
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet with waxed paper.
  2. Place the cookies into a food processor and pulse until the cookies become fine crumbs.
  3. Cut the cream cheese into chunks and add the cream cheese to the food processor. Pulse until the mixture is well blended and forms a large ball.
  4. Using a small cookie scoop, portion the cookie dough into 1-inch balls and roll into a smooth ball.
  5. Optional: For best results, freeze the oreo balls prior to decorating.
  6. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate and tap to remove the excess chocolate. Place the cookie ball on the prepared cookie sheet and immediately decorate with sprinkles..
  7. Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for about 1 hour or until firm.  

Notes

Tip: If using candy melts, add vegetable shortening or coconut oil to the candy as it melts. This makes the candy spread move evenly and creates a smoother shell around the truffle.

To freeze:

  1. Prepare the cookie balls as directed and place on the baking sheet.
  2. Put the baking sheet into the freezer until the cookie balls are frozen.
  3. Transfer the cookie balls to an airtight container. Seal and freeze up to 6 months.
