Making Healthy Choices for Lunch

We are trying to make a conscious choice in our family to eat healthier. Let me tell you…it’s difficult! Being Southern, we love good deep fried food and our sweet tea. While there’s nothing wrong with that every once in awhile, we are trying to eat healthier and set a better example for our little one. Eating a healthier lunch is one of the steps we are taking towards a healthier lifestyle. It is easy to run through a drive through or pick up junk food for lunch-but we are taking small steps daily to eat a healthier lunch.

Did you know that this week is also National School Lunch Week? I know, packing a healthy lunch for your kids can be stressful and very time consuming. Several brands are working to create ways for you to pack a healthy lunch for your kids (or yourself!) without it adding more stress to your already busy day. Below I am sharing a few suggestions to create a healthy lunch for you and your family.

  Creating A Healthy Lunch

  1. Yogurt with all the fixins’ – Stay away from packing processed yogurts with sugary additives and dress up your kid’s yogurt yourself with fresh fruit and Flax Chia Seeds.
