This post is sponsored by Chicco. I received a Chicco NextFit Zip to review for this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
It is amazing how things change when you become a parent, you think about things you would never have thought about before having children…like car seats. We have been shopping awhile for a convertible car seat for our little one. September is Baby Safety Month, so we felt like this month was the perfect time to transition our little one into a convertible car seat. While shopping for a car seat my seem easy with the internet, narrowing down the plethora of information available, is not easy. I feel like I am a pretty level-headed mom-but car seat shopping about broke me. I was at the point of throwing up my hands and saying to my husband “whatever, you pick”. Then, I found Chicco. After hours of research and shopping, the Chicco NextFit Zip Convertible Car seat is the car seat that we chose.
We chose the Chicco NextFit Zip Convertible Car Seat for several reasons:
First, their customer service is amazing. You all know how much I love a good customer service experience. Chicco’s customer service is top notch.
The Chicco Next Fit Zip was rated by Consumer Reports as one of the top 5 Convertible Car seats this year.
It’s easy to clean…zip and wash! (we all know how messy babies…especially boys can be)
It’s comfy for our little one. We travel a lot and we wanted not only a safe seat, but a comfortable seat.
It fit perfectly in both of our SUV’s
Chicco has a Car Seat Safety Hub. The information on here is amazing and has helped answer so many of the questions I had about car seat safety.
It has an Exclusive ReclineSure® 9-position Leveling System provides the most recline options of any convertible car seat to accommodate a wider range of vehicles. (Information courtesy of Chicco’s Website)
My hubby is the installation guru in our house. I am not mechanical…at all. He has installed each of the car seats that we have. Each time he has had to install or move a car seat, he has had difficulties-either getting the seat to secure properly or leveling it. When he went to install our Chicco NextFit Zip car seat, he came back in the house after about 15 minutes. My first question was ‘what’s wrong?’. He responded with ‘nothing, it’s installed. We are never buying another brand of car seat, that was the easiest installation process I have ever experienced!’. I am a firm believer that an easy car seat installation process makes the car seat safer for children. My hubby rarely has something to say about a brand or a product, but he is now a life long Chicco customer. He is super impressed with how heavy duty and safe the car seat is. If that’s not testimonial enough, I don’t know what is.
The Real Test
The real test of the Chicco NextFit Zip car seat is how does our little one like the seat? Let me just say-our little one is wild. He does NOT like to be tied down, which means…he hated his last car seat. When we put him in the NextFit Zip for the first time, I wasn’t sure how he would handle it. I hoped the experience wouldn’t end in tears (for either of us). To my surprise, he looked around and then started playing with his toys. As I strapped him in the first time, he just kept playing. No tears. No pushing and struggling, trying to get out of his seat. He has actually taken several naps in the car seat, each time we put him in it, he falls asleep! While he can’t actually tell us what he thinks of the seat, the fact that he seems so much more comfortable in this seat than his last one is testimonial enough for this momma.
The Bottom Line
As I said, I did a lot of research before we selected the Chicco NextFit Zip car seat. I cannot be happier with our selection. As a mom, I believe it’s in our DNA to worry, but I worry a lot less now that we have our little one in his NextFit Zip car seat. He is happy and comfortable, but more importantly, he is protected and in a seat manufactured by a company who truly understands that safety for children is not just meeting standards, it is exceeding them. I highly recommend Chicco and the NextFit Zip car seat!
