Thank you Bumble Bee® Seasoned Tuna Pouch with Spoon for sponsoring this post. As always, I only work with brands I use and love.

I am the first to admit that when I became a mom, a lot of things that were ‘important’ before were put on the ‘back burner’. In some ways, this is good, but in other ways, it is not. One of the things that was put on the back burner was my health. While I was focused on taking care of our little guy, I forgot to take care of myself. Over the past few months, I’ve been working on taking better care of myself. As moms, we have to take care of ourselves in order to be able to take care of our families to the best of our ability. I’ve learned 3 Tips to Stay Healthy As a Busy Mom and I’m happy to share those with you today!

1. Unplug and unwind. This one is the most difficult for me, I struggle with unplugging. I am one of those people that gets up during the middle of the night to run to the bathroom and I end up spending an hour responding to e-mails. This is not healthy at all. I’m working on being more intentional and unplugging more often. After 8 pm at night, I try to spend time unwinding and not looking at my phone, checking e-mails, etc. I’m also trying to do more things for myself, sometimes that means getting my nails done or going to grab a cup of coffee. This has resulted in less stress and more rest!

2. Take a non-traditional approach to exercise. I am not one of those people that loves to spend hours in the gym. For years, I always struggled with that and tried to ‘make myself’ want to go to the gym. Recently, I’ve been staying active in other ways- I’m happier AND healthier. Whether it’s chasing Levi through the house, running up and down our steps a few times, or going for a walk outside- I’m learning to be more active and I’m also learning that exercise doesn’t mean you are stuck in a gym for 3 hours a day.

3. Eat healthy on the go: be prepared. I’ll be the first to admit: I get stuck in the ‘drive through’ cycle. It can be so easy to just run through a drive through when you are out, but we all know it’s not that healthy. I’ve been focusing instead on taking food with me when we are out. As a mom, it can be easy for us to just eat whatever is available and not pay attention to what we are putting into our bodies.

Focusing on the fuel that we give our bodies is key in becoming more healthy women and moms. This is why I LOVE my Bumble Bee® Seasoned Tuna Pouch with Spoon. They are packed full of flavor, lean protein and the package even comes with a spoon included! I carry a few packs with me wherever I go and love having the peace of mind that no matter where I am, I have a delicious snack or meal ready to go! If I am out to lunch or dinner, I simply spoon the tuna on top of a salad or wrap for a delicious meal. Eating healthy is key when you are a busy mom, we have to ensure that we fuel our bodies with delicious and nutritious food for the craziness of each day. I can truly tell a difference in how I feel when I eat nutritious food like these Seasoned Tuna Pouches versus when I’m not eating healthy.
