Frozen Banana Pops

I know what you’re thinking, “How are chocolate covered bananas healthy?” It’s a real thing, I promise. Making this fun treat healthy is all in the ingredients you use.

I like to use organic bananas and dark chocolate for my frozen chocolate banana pops. And because our little one loves bananas (for right now), I have been trying to find ways to mix up his banana eating habits lately.

So when I saw frozen chocolate covered bananas at Disney World during our last visit, I made it my mission to come up with a healthier version that I could feel good about feeding my little guy.

After all, fruit popsicles are a summer delicacy! What could be better than a refreshing, healthy popsicle made in the comfort of your home? The fruit choices are all yours and this homemade popsicles recipe is a cinch!

How to Make Chocolate Covered Bananas

If you know how to make chocolate covered bananas, you know how to make frozen banana pops with granola. The only difference is that you roll the banana popsicle in granola before the dark chocolate sets.

So let’s talk technique.

To make frozen banana granola pops, start by peeling your bananas. Bananas that are a firmer work best for this recipe because they will be easier to dip in the chocolate.

Cut each banana into 2 or 3 pieces, depending on the size of the chocolate treat on a stick you want to serve. Then insert a wooden popsicle stick into the cut end of each piece.

Dip each banana pop into melted dark chocolate, then roll it in a bowl of granola until it is coated. Place the chocolate banana pops onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet and freeze for about 2 hours, or until frozen solid.
